Cedar cladding sits naturally in the dramatic environment
Copper flashings and other traditional materials last the distance and add a touch of luxury
The client’s wanted a traditional home, so we researched and referenced historic buildings relevant to Queenstown. Local and natural materials were also incorporated to reinforce the vernacular tradition. As a result, the house fits into its landscape while being a light and open contemporary home. 25 years after it was finished we revisited the house and were very happy with the way it was ageing as the photos show.
